=09The academic field of Educational Technology entails a number of kno= wledge practices related to ICTs in education and society. At botto m line, = it is concerned with the development of the skills of student tea chers seek= ing to integrate ICTs in their classrooms. As a conceptual home for postgra= duate teaching and research, it straddles ‘eLearning&rs quo;, which we= take to mean teaching, learning and assessment using ICTs, as well as the = philosophical, sociological and psychological study of di gital technologies= in education. As an expansive research field, it range s across issues of k= nowledge, information, learning, minds, brains, machi nes, schools, and the = network society – in short, the comprehensive theorization and study = of modern technology in modern society.
